The First Baptist Church of Madison (34 Cook Ave, Madison, NJ) is celebrating its 115th anniversary! To honor this exciting occasion we are planning a weekend long Anniversary Celebration.
On Saturday, September 18, 2010 there will be an hour-long celebration in Carol’s Garden serving hors d’oeuvres from 1-2 PM. Immediately following will be a “Banquet of Elegance Luncheon” at St. Vincent’s Roman Catholic Church (26 Green Village, Madison, NJ).
The banquet speaker will be Rev. Allen S. Potts, pastor of The Greater Abyssinian Baptist Church in Newark. The ticket price is $25.00 for adults and $10 for children. Contact Sister Nora Drewery (973.822.3684) or Deaconess Allie Brewster (973.966.1117) for banquet tickets.
The commemoration will continue on Sunday, September 19, 2010 with two services at First Baptist Church. The 11 AM service will be presided over by the Rev. Dr. Granville A. Seward, Pastor Emeritus of the Mt. Zion Baptist Church of Newark. The 4 PM service will be presided over by Rev. Dr. W. Louis McDowell, Pastor of Mt. Pilgrim Missionary Baptist Church in Passaic. Rev. Dr. McDowell will be accompanied by his choir.
